Thanks so much for flagging this and for your patience while the team worked through it. Good news, the issues with Budget vs Actuals in Modern Reports have been fixed and are live for all customers now. The team has been working through a whole range of fixes including date range customisation, budget columns showing correctly, and making sure the report matches what you would expect coming from the classic version.
You can access the Modern version today by heading to Reports and opening Budget vs Actuals from there. QuickBooks is gradually switching the default view over to Modern for all customers through November, so you may already be seeing it, but if not you can switch manually any time.
Hope this gets you back to where you need to be. Let us know if anything still isn't working as expected!

Samalia Murray I do not see that my bigger issue has been addressed.
I need to have the option to run report for a specific period, like last month or last quarter, and also have the YTD on the same report much like the profit and loss report options.

Hi Natalie, thanks so much for coming back with this. You're right that this is different from the fixes we just shipped, which were focused on bugs with the budget columns and date range display. What you're describing, being able to run a specific period alongside YTD in the same report the way Profit and Loss does, is a feature gap that's still open. I'll make sure this is flagged to the Reports team as a distinct request. Really appreciate you being specific about what you need, it helps make the case.

Let me add here that after I added the budget, I expected to use the Budget vs Actual report from Standard Reports Overview section—nope! I am forced to go to the budgets page under the main gear and run the report from the actions on the right. no bueno!
