I am running GL Detail for corporate tax returns this week (Corp Tax deadline) and the debits and credits seem to be mixed up. A/R is not being relieved with a credit upon receipt of customer payments. While the customer payments are showing correctly as debits to Undeposited Funds, the total deposit amount is shown as debits to Undeposited 3 times instead of each customer payment being credited to relieve undeposited funds. I've attached an example of what I'm seeing. This screenshot depicts 3 customer payments batched in one deposit for $1,400.20 for collections on a prior year invoice. The report is on Accrual Basis. Only debits are showing on the report and there are no credits, which is quite troubling. The second screenshot is of another example of debits and credits not showing correctly on the GL Report. This is of a check transaction used to move cash from one bank account to another. Both sides of this transaction are showing as credits. I customized the GL Report to include debits, credits, amounts and balance as well as transaction ID to show they are two lines of the same transaction. I also could have sworn I used to be able to turn off grouping on this report. It defaults to group by Distribution Account. No accountant or auditor likes to see these groupings on an exported excel file because you can't efficiently sort, filter, etc.
