In Classic View we were able to generate proprietary sets of reports and share it with our team only, using the outputs to provide additional analytics/tie-in with other applications. With Modern View, it appears this option is no longer available (only Private or Shared), making it impossible to create any proprietary repots, or invest any intellectual capital into processes involving QBO. This is a very significant issue for us.

I agree with Alicia Pollock below that it would be great if we are ABLE TO ASSIGN REPORT VISIBILITY BY USER…

Once a report is saved as Private, it appears impossible to change is sharing selection to Shared.

Wanted to share a quick update on a new enhancement we have rolled out for custom report sharing!
What's New: Share with Firm Option
We have introduced a new Share with Firm option when saving custom reports. Previously, accountants could only choose between sharing a report with All users or keeping it private (None). We have now added a third option — Firm Only — giving accountants much more targeted control over who can access the reports they create.
This feature is currently live for 50% of companies and is being rolled out gradually. By the end of this week, it will be available to 100% of companies.

I have reports that I do not want shared with the client but need to share with others in my firm. I only have the option to have the reports for myself or to share with everybody. Can you add another category of firm only?

Please pull this out of backlog. I am now frequently hearing from people that we need several different options for sharing: Just the accountant, accountant and owner, accountant and team, accountant and all company employees, and shared with the other accounting team. It's never clear if the company's permissions allow them to see the report or not. I've now started making reports during zooms by screensharing and creating the report under THEIR login. I would like to BE ABLE TO ASSIGN REPORT VISIBILITY BY USER! It's interesting - I never got this question at all, and now I get it frequently - the industry seems to have evolved.

Alex Khazanovich We are currently introducting this option to share reports with 'firm' Just like the classic report. It will be avialable to all companies with accountant attached by the end of this month.
