Slow reporting, moving to detail

Happy to share that we have addressed multiple issues that were reported. Here is a summary of what has been fixed:
- Report Loading Performance
Modern Reports were feeling slow and we heard you on this. We have made significant performance improvements and our internal metrics confirm that report loading times have improved considerably. The experience should feel noticeably faster now.
- Horizontal Scroll Now Fixed at the Bottom of the Screen
Previously, if a report was wider than the screen, customers had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the report to access the horizontal scroll bar and then scroll back up. This was a frustrating experience. The horizontal scroll bar is now fixed at the bottom of the screen at all times, making it much easier to navigate wide reports without having to scroll up and down.
- Formulas Now Present in Exported Excel Reports
When exporting reports to Excel, totals and subtotals were previously showing as static values with no underlying formulas. This has now been fixed and all totals and subtotals in exported reports will carry the correct formulas, giving you full flexibility for downstream analysis in Excel.
All three fixes are live in production

@Tammie Schmidt-Kirk We have enabled horizontal scrolls for reports whose report's width goes beyond the screen. Please review the same and let us know if the issue persists for you.
We are working on enabling formaules for all exported reports. We are tracking towards releasing the fucntionality by the end of this month.
Regarding the 'Summary view' could you let us know, which report has this issue ?

John, thanks for the follow‑up — truly. But just to clarify, knowing where the “Back to Summary Report” button lives is not the issue. I could find that button in my sleep at this point.
The real problem is the journey — specifically, going from the P&L to the detail report, where apparently each scroll requires a small prayer and a loading bar with the speed of a dial‑up connection in 1998.
Scroll… wait.
Scroll… wait.
Scroll… question all my life choices.
Then I go back to the summary report — and surprise! — wait again.
Open a transaction? Oh, you guessed it: wait again.
And before anyone blames my internet, I work in two different locations with two different providers. Both are perfectly capable of streaming HD video, running cloud software, and possibly launching a small rocket — but apparently not loading this report.
Now, about the new layout — where do I begin? Half the data seems to have just… wandered off the screen. So I’m constantly adjusting margins like I’m resizing a window on a 12‑inch laptop from 2005.
And horizontal scrolling? Forget it. If the report is wider than the viewing area, I have to scroll all the way down, scoot over to the right, scroll back up, then — because it’s never that easy — scroll down again and scoot over again. It's like playing a mini‑game no one asked for.
My favorite part? The new “summary view” — which used to show me neatly grouped totals. Now it apparently means make everything vanish. My Chart of Accounts is organized beautifully, but the summary view has decided that “summary” = “nope.”
Exporting to Excel used to give totals. Now it gives raw data, so if I want to make a change, I either re‑run the whole report or build formulas myself. And on the rare occasion the export does include formulas, they're usually broken, circular referenced, or missing data like a teenager’s homework.
So yes, John — thank you sincerely for asking.
Because my clients and I are… how do I put this politely… extremely frustrated with these forced new reports that don’t actually work.
Thanks.

Hi Tammie,
Could you please provide some more detail about the pain your are encountering when moving back and forth between a main report and the detail report?
For Example:
I run a Profit and Loss then drill down on the amount listed for "Sales"
The detail report then loads and when I need to go back to the profit and loss, I click the link that says "back to summary report" and then I am back on the Profit and Loss report with my previously set date range.
Do you see the "back to summary report" link?
If yes, when you click it does it load?
Does it keep the previously set customization like the date range or columns?
Do the reports load quickly enough?
We appreciate your feedback and engagement which will enable us to deliver the best possible experience.
I've also attached a screen shot of the back to summary report link for reference.
