Here are the requests from my team:

1) Convert useful life field to months. Currently the useful life is set to full years. This means that orgs with leasehold improvements on a remaining lease (without intent to renew) would have to round to nearest year. (Our client is choosing to not use the Fixed Asset module because of this)

2) Link the asset to a purchase transaction. At the very least, vendor should be a required field.

3) Attachments should be allowed.

4) The ability to add a fixed asset number would be incredibly useful, especially when you have multiples of the same assets.

5) There is only an option to dispose of the entire asset. In some cases we need to record an impairment or partial disposal.

6) One of the fields is “purchase price”. This could be misleading for donated assets, so either changing it to “value” or adding a field for type of acquisition would be helpful.

7) Currently the entry of the asset does not create an entry in the GL which is great. Neither does the entry of the disposal. However, it would be AWESOME if the disposal entry did create a JE, including any gain/loss and removing the asset and accumulated depreciation from the GL. It does provide a summary of this information, so does not seem a stretch to make that happen.
