QBO needs to have a view only user that can see everything. We just upgraded a client to Advanced to create a custom role, which we can add view only access to transactions, but that won't let you see financial statement reports. Alternatively, you can setup a "View company reports" user that can see the reports but not the transactions. Chat support told me Intuit can't support view only for everything. A merging of the two user settings needs to happen to allow a true View Only user role to exist.

This role is needed for an executive who wants info but we definitely don't want to have the ability to accidentally change something.
